Cardi B is opening up about her experience with sexual harassment.
The rapper spoke candidly about the incident in an upcoming episode of WE TVs Untold Stories of Hip Hop. She recalled being onset at a photo shoot when a photographer exposed himself and made suggestive comments.
I will never forget how I went to shoot for this magazine and the photographer, he was trying to get close to me like, Yeah, you want to get in this magazine? Then he pulled his dick out, Cardi says in the interview. I was so fucking mad, and I was just like, This is crazy.
She said she left the photo shoot after the incident.
I was like, [Youre] fucking bugging. You know what? Im out! she said. I told the magazine owner and he just looked at me like, So? And?
Cardi said incidents like this happen frequently in the music industry, and she feels the Me Too movement has overlooked certain women, like the ones she grew up with in the Bronx.
When I see the #MeToo movementtheres girls from the hood I know that went through the same type of treatment, like they make you feel like you got to do a certain type of thing for the most bullshit shit, Cardi said. It happens, really, every day.
But Cardi said at this point in her career, she has a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct.
